Sports Injury Physio
Treatment of soft tissue injuries
Soft tissue injuries are common and can occur suddenly or come on over any period of time. Often referred to as sports injuries they are not limited to sport, there may be a trigger such as falling, playing sport, gardening or even making the bed, they may even appear for no apparent reason at all.
They can lead to a degree of damage to muscles, tendons, ligaments or nerves, and often recover quickly on their own with rest, ice elevation and gentle activity. If acute or recovery doesn't appear to be speedy or full, then physiotherapy can help.
Highmead Physiotherapy can assess and diagnose the structures causing the pain and establish the reason for the injury.
We use physio treatments such as mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, ultrasound and stretching. Soft tissue injuries include sprained ankles, knee ligament or cartilage, hip pain, frozen shoulders or tendonitis, tennis elbow and RSI (repetitive strain injury).
